Sleepovers are a regular thing in our house recently so I thought I would dedicate this week's Tuesday's 10 at 10 to my top tips for making sure that any sleepovers at your house go without a hitch.Don't over-planIf you do make plans for sleepover activities, it's highly likely that they won't want to do whatever you have planned. I generally have a bag of popcorn in the cupboard and a cucumber in the fridge (anyone with teen girly girls will get this) as the most Miss Frugal and her friends will usually want to do is have a mini spa night with face-masks and cucumbers on … [Read more...]
Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {24th April 2015}….
Five frugal things I've done this week: 1. I'm very excited because my new (to me) writing bureau that I bought off our local Facebook selling group has just been delivered and I LOVE it. I've wanted one for so long but rarely see them in my price range anywhere so when I saw this one still up for sale after a few days for £65 I thought it was worth putting a cheeky offer in. £50 and it was mine and the lovely man even offered to deliver it for me for no extra charge. I was planning to paint it in a creamy white but now it's here, I'm not so sure.2. I keep hearing about how … [Read more...]

Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {17th April 2015}….
Five frugal things I've done this week: 1. My new Fridge Freezer arrived on Monday and although I love it, it's certainly a lot bigger than it looked when I bought it. We thought to measure the depth and width in the shop to make sure it fit where we wanted it but we didn't really consider the height of it until it was delivered. It's at least a foot taller than our old one which means I can't store anything on top of it like I used to so Monday night was spent in the kitchen re-organising! The problem I have is that I have too much 'stuff' in the kitchen and even the shelves that we … [Read more...]
Dear So and So – the one with the clever tween….
Dear Miss Frugal,I gave birth to you and have spent the last 12 and a half years living with you so please understand that I know you. I know when you're up to something and I know that you don't spend almost two hours tidying and cleaning your bedroom without some sort of ulterior motive.Yours suspiciously, Mam. ************************* Dear Purse,Please help me.If for any reason I give in to whatever Miss Frugal is after, I need you to stop me from parting with our money. Just pretend your zip is jammed or hide the money among the three million recipients that are … [Read more...]
How to track your child wherever they are….
Miss Frugal is almost 13 and is getting more independent by the day.I'm trying hard to let her go and to give her the freedom that she craves but as a parent, it's really hard to know where is should stop. If you have children yourself, regardless of how old they are, then I'm sure you know exactly what I mean - it's a fine line between keeping them safe and being too over-protective.If I look at her now compared to a year ago, I can see a huge change in here and it's all as a result of her going up to secondary school. You might remember how much I struggled with the decision to … [Read more...]
