I'm afraid I've turned into a bit of a candle addict lately!I love the glow of a candle on a night and I love the scented candles that make my house smell so nice - the only problem is that the nicer a candle smells, the more I want to burn it which means that it burns down quicker and needs replacing sooner. Not great if you're trying to save money as candles aren't exactly a necessity are they? But there are ways to make a candle last a little bit longer so at least I feel like I'm doing my bit to be thrifty. ;-)Here's a few of the ways I know of....Keep the wick trimmed … [Read more...]
My favourite money saving tip….
I have lots of money saving tips - in fact, one of my most popular posts ever is a post that is jam packed with over 50 money saving ideas so when Scottish Friendly asked me to share my favourite tip with you to celebrate the launch of their #ThriftyFamily campaign, I thought it would be a bit of a doddle. But I've been sat here trying to think of just one tip for about twenty minutes now. Will it be to always plan your meals, to shop around for bargains, to make the most of free things or will it be something more specific, like how to save money on your gas and electricity? But when … [Read more...]

You can find her post here. This year I'm going to have children … [Read more...]
