I'm afraid I've turned into a bit of a candle addict lately!I love the glow of a candle on a night and I love the scented candles that make my house smell so nice - the only problem is that the nicer a candle smells, the more I want to burn it which means that it burns down quicker and needs replacing sooner.Not great if you're trying to save money as candles aren't exactly a necessity are they?But there are ways to make a candle last a little bit longer so at least I feel like I'm doing my bit to be thrifty. ;-)Here's a few of the ways I know of....Keep the wick trimmed … [Read more...]

We have three different pound shops in the town where we live and between them there can be some fantastic bargains if you look carefully enough.I've decided to start a monthly feature to share some of our favourite pound shop bargains, starting this month with some of the great make up bargains that we've found in the last few weeks....First up is the Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer which sells on the Boots website for £6.49. Last week, I shared the results of our charity shop shopping trip with you and if you had chance to read it, I think you'll agree that we got a lot for our money.I've also shared in the past the results of our ebay shopping exploits which were almost as successful as we bought a Topshop playsuit, a Boohoo dress and a River Island dress - all for about £13.
