These are my ten favourite store cupboard ingredients and they all do the job of making me look like a much better cook than I really am because having this little lot in my cupboard means that I can rustle us up a tasty meal in no time at all with no problem and any last minute changes to our meal plans are easily accommodated.Take today's lunch for example, I found three pathetic looking sweet potatoes that either needed using up or throwing out and turned them into a delicious chickpea, lentil and sweet potato curry using nothing else other than ingredients that I have in my store … [Read more...]

It's been a good while since I've shared my meal plan with you all hasn't it?We've not been doing too badly with our meal planning lately but I know there's a lot more we could be doing to be even better - and by better, I mean saving more time as well as more money by being more organised. Our new freezer was delivered yesterday so I'm hoping that I'm going to be able to fill that with batch cooking delights and that one big batch cooking session every now and again will be enough to keep us fully stocked. Cabbage and Spring Greens Soup!It doesn't sound very appetising does it?Since I got my soup maker for Christmas I'm constantly on the lookout for new recipes to try - the soup aisle in supermarkets always gets me thinking about what I can recreate at home and the fruit and veg sections provide me with just as much inspiration with the pre-prepared soup packs that they all seem to be selling these days.My Cabbage and Spring Greens Soup was inspired by a pack that I found in the fresh veg section of our local Asda which I thought sounded lovely when I saw it but didn't buy it at the … [Read more...]
