Cabbage and Spring Greens Soup!It doesn't sound very appetising does it?Since I got my soup maker for Christmas I'm constantly on the lookout for new recipes to try - the soup aisle in supermarkets always gets me thinking about what I can recreate at home and the fruit and veg sections provide me with just as much inspiration with the pre-prepared soup packs that they all seem to be selling these days.My Cabbage and Spring Greens Soup was inspired by a pack that I found in the fresh veg section of our local Asda which I thought sounded lovely when I saw it but didn't buy it at the … [Read more...]

There are lots of reasons why I love my recipe for slow cooker tomato sauce and why I think you'll love it too - it's cheap, it's versatile, it takes two minutes to prepare and most importantly, it tastes delicious!I generally make it using things I already have in the house so the ingredients like the garlic, chilli and basil are often from my spice rack rather than being fresh but that's just because I have it in already - you can substitute anything you need to. My meal plans are a bit all over the place at the moment as I'm still getting used to Slimming World and learning to adapt meals that I know we all love so that I can continue to enjoy them whilst following the plan. How one small change saves me money on my shopping every single week….
OK, I don't think I'm going to blow your mind here but I did want to tell you about a change I made a few months ago to my shopping habits that's saved me some money!I used to go shopping on a Friday night after work and in theory, I would buy everything we needed to get us through to the following Friday except for a mid-week mini shop for fruit and veg where we needed it.The problem was that we're all at home for most of the weekend and with a fridge full of food we were more likely to snack - not only on treats but on things like carrots (Miss Frugal loves carrot sticks), yoghurts … [Read more...]
Slimming World Quiche – Tasty, cheap and syn free….
Slimming World quiche is basically a quiche with no pastry - very similar to my leftovers frittata recipe but with the addition of cottage cheese.I love making frittatas because they're great for using up leftovers and perfect for taking to work for lunch. When I started Slimming World on Monday it was inevitable that a Slimming World quiche version would be the first thing I tried out.I wasn't disappointed and its definitely something I would eat whether I was on Slimming World or not as it was delicious, the fact that it's syn free is an added bonus! Slimming World quiche 4 … [Read more...]
