I seem to have rather a lot of jalapenos to use up so today, I'm going to share some of the more interesting recipes that use jalapenos that I've found on my search for inspiration. In case you're wondering why I have a lot of jalapenos to use up, it's because I discovered three unopened jars in my food cupboard when I was clearing it out last week. I knew I had one jar as I like to keep some in for nachos and to add to my slow cooker chilli but the extra two were hidden at the back where I rarely look as that's where I keep my hardly ever used things!I took a fair amount of the … [Read more...]

This means that meals that use up leftover gammon are regular additions to our meal plan.I always cook my gammon in the slow cooker - sometimes just in a little water, sometimes in Dr Pepper and sometimes in diet coke but however I cook it, it's always a family favourite. I always have enough leftover gammon for at least one or two other meals but I try to vary them as much as I can so it doesn't feel like we're constantly eating gammon. ;-)Here's a few of the things I … [Read more...]

Six ways to be supermarket savvy!
Like lots of people, I'd love to be able to shop in the local independent shops but I honestly just don't have the time to shop anywhere other than our local supermarket which is open longer hours than the local shops.More often than not, I do my shopping later on an evening when the kids have taken themselves off to their bedrooms to relax and chat with their friends on Facetime or on the Xbox.
