10 ideas to help you save money on your Autumn food shops…
We all know that the cost of a weekly shop is ever-increasing at the moment, don't we? I'm really focusing on our weekly meal plans at the moment because I want to really be mindful about what we're eating right now and that means putting real thought into what I plan and what we buy when we're shopping. I want us to eat well and am very lucky that we're in a position to be able to choose what we eat and where we shop but that doesn't mean that I want to waste money so I've been thinking about the kinds of meals that we'll be eating in October. We'll be planning our meals on a … [Read more...]
The Best Potato Salad Recipe in the World (not even exaggerating)….
I'm not even exaggerating when I tell you that my potato salad recipe is the Best potato salad recipe in the World! It's the one thing that I cook that has actually resulted in people asking me for the recipe. 😁So, I first made this recipe about five years ago when I was trying to recreate a dish that I'd eaten at a barbecue the week before and in trying to recreate that, I actually made something even better. I've made it for every barbecue since that time and every single time, I get someone telling me how amazing it is so it's the one thing I cook that … [Read more...]
Tasty Apple and Honey Bran Muffins….
These Apple and Honey Bran Muffins really are lovely and they're definitely healthier than the average muffin - even if they look a bit wonky. 😁I remember when I was little, my Mam used to cook some kind of cake using Kelloggs All-Bran but I have no clue what else was in it - I can vividly remember her weighing out the All-Bran to go in it and I remember how much I enjoyed it just out of the oven but that's as much as I can remember. Every now and again, I have a go at making something with All-Bran in it in some sort of an attempt to recreate a childhood memory and a … [Read more...]
Homemade flatbread – quick, easy and brilliant….
Homemade flatbread is amazing because it's so versatile as well as being so easy to make that my two children could make it pretty much on their own from junior school. We used to have homemade flatbread with soup, made into mini pizzas, we use them as pocketless pitta bread filled with lovely fillings, as burger buns, wrapped around hot dogs, with scrambled egg and bacon on - you name it, we've probably served it with a homemade flatbread at some point. We always made this by hand rather than in our bread maker for no other reason than it just felt like more of a rustic … [Read more...]

As part of my frugal reset, I've been sharing our weekly meal plans on here again and I'll be honest, I've really enjoyed the old school blog posts again along with the accountability that I get from sharing something with you all!Meal planning makes me feel more organised and saves me time and money, every single week and these weekly posts, as old style as they are, really help keep me accountable for sitting down and making my plan each week and then through the week, actually sticking to it.I am going to hold my hands up though and say that at least once a week, sometimes … [Read more...]
