One of my most popular posts ever is my post about the six things you can do before you go to bed that will make the next day better. In my work life, I'd call getting prepared for the following day the night before 'Setting yourself up for Success' and actually that's a good thing to call it in my home life to because there really are things you can do that will make the following day easier for you which in turn will make you happier.I've been thinking about what else you can do in your daily life to set yourself up for success and I've thought of a few quick wins (another work term;-)) … [Read more...]
How to have an organised December….
Not only can December be an expensive month it can also be an extremely busy month and looking at my diary, this year it's going to be even busier than usual! Between work, two different school's Christmas activities, doctors and orthodontists appointments and Christmas nights out I don't think I'm going to have chance to sit down all month. ;-)The problem I have is keeping track of it all!I need something that we can all see what's happening at a glance so we know exactly what everyone is doing and when!Mr Frugal for example needs to know if he can swap a shift at work at the … [Read more...]
Couponing – the laid back way to do it….
I'm sure we've all seen the extreme couponing stories in the media about people who use discount vouchers and coupons to pay for a big chunk of their grocery shopping. These are people who really take their couponing seriously and fair play to them, they get some great discounts and save a huge amount of money.Personally, I don't really have the time or the inclination to search out these coupons and then visit the various different shops necessary to redeem the coupons that I find. Having said that, I do like a money saving opportunity and I certainly don't mind using coupons or vouchers … [Read more...]

Old Magazines - Check your magazine rack and anywhere else that you might hoard old magazines and spend a pleasant hour flicking … [Read more...]
What do you do with all the works of art your children make?
Are you the sort of mother who keeps every work of art that your child brings home or do you wait until they're not looking and throw most of it in the bin? What about if I told you that you could keep EVERY single piece of art that your children made without having boxes full of it around the house?Keep reading....I used to keep everything that they made and displayed it all proudly on the back wall of my kitchen, like a little art gallery. It was always the first thing that anyone visiting my kitchen would be drawn to and everyone always commented on what a lovely idea it was - it … [Read more...]
Who needs a Scanner when you have a phone…
Last week I had to scan some receipts so I could claim back some expenses so off I headed to the garage (our printer/scanner is in the garage as I like it tidy and out of the way) but it wouldn't turn on for some reason which wasn't particularly convenient as I was already late sending the receipts off.I poked the scanner a bit, turned it on and off and did what anyone with my level of technical knowledge would do - I sighed dramatically and stormed back into the house!I then had a bit of a whinge on Facebook (as you do) and someone suggested that I just download a scanning app!Why … [Read more...]
