I love a good pre-loved bargain, whether it's from a charity shop, the car boot sale or even from somewhere online so I thought I'd start a bit of a monthly round-up of some of the pre-loved bargains that I buy each month. Here's this month's little round-up.Ok, this is a controversial one!The first thing I bought this month arrived just after last month's post so it just missed being included in the September pre-loved bargains round-up - it's a beautiful Burberry scarf! This is something I've wanted to buy for myself for years but have never been able to stomach the … [Read more...]
This month’s pre-loved bargains {September 2020}….
I love a good pre-loved bargain, whether it's from a charity shop, the car boot sale or even from somewhere online so I thought I'd start a bit of a monthly round-up of some of the pre-loved bargains that I buy each month. Here's September's selection. There's nothing I like more than a good rummage through the local charity shops but until this last couple of weeks, I haven't stepped foot inside of one since the start of March. I had a week off work this month though so I decided to have a cheeky little morning wandering around town (not my town, a little one near me has MUCH better … [Read more...]
Some new additions to my wardrobe….
Honestly, I feel like I've had the craziest few months with everything that's been going on here! Between the Summer Holidays, work and all my Dad drama I genuinely haven't had chance to breathe since the middle of June which is when my Dad took a turn for the worse. With him being settled in his new home and the kids back at school, I'm hoping that a little bit of normality is going to return to our lives. As welcome as that would be though, it does mean that I now have a to-do list longer than the Great Wall of China to get through.Today's post has been at the top of my to-do list for … [Read more...]
Three Prom dresses for under £7.50….
A couple of months ago I was sat with Miss Frugal watching a TV show about a group of girls getting ready for their proms and the cost of some of the dresses they were wearing was astronomical - I'm talking a month's worth of food shopping budget on the dress alone. By the time you add on the shoes, the bag and the professional hair and make up, you could probably pay for a family holiday! We have a good year or so left before we need to start thinking about prom and all that comes with it but I decided to prove to Miss Frugal that you don't need to spend a small fortune on a dress by … [Read more...]
Style on a budget – the one with the washi tape manicure….
Miss Frugal has always been a nail biter and no matter what we've tried, she just couldn't seem to kick the habit. But then we booked New York and she asked if she could have her nails done properly with gel polish if she could grow them to a reasonable length. I agreed half because I thought we'd tried everything else to try and help her stop biting them and half because I really didn't think she would manage seeing as she's tried so many times before.Turns out that having amazing nails in time for New York was a better motivator than anything else we've tried in the past as she now … [Read more...]
Style on a Budget – the one with the full outfit for under a fiver….
A couple of weeks ago I told you about how Miss Frugal and I try to fulfill her love of designer labels without breaking the bank and today I wanted to share a charity shop triumph with you. We found a full outfit that she loves for under a fiver at the Age UK charity shop in our town. I love the Age UK shop as they don't charge ridiculous prices and they're a goldmine for clothes that Miss Frugal will actually wear.We think all three things will be fab to take to New York as they're quite versatile and can be worn with other things to make different outfits....The picture … [Read more...]
