We're getting to that time of year again where the schools are challenging children to decorate eggs creatively so today, I thought I'd share some ideas on how you can colour eggs naturally.I've seen a few egg colouring kits appearing in the shops over the last few weeks and although I haven't bought one, it looks like they're just tablets of colour that you add to the water when you're boiling your eggs. That got me thinking that there must be some natural colourants that you can use instead - just like when we had a go at dying fabrics with food a while ago.I've done lots … [Read more...]
Amazing Homemade Hobnobs {Oat Cookies}….
Homemade hobnobs are going to revolutionise your life. Possibly. :-)Homemade hobnobs are literally my favourite biscuit in the world (unless you count chocolate chip cookies and jaffa cakes) and this recipe for them is one I've adapted over the years after a lovely friend shared it with me. It's so quick and easy to make that I often find myself making a batch while I'm waiting for tea to cook and when I do make them, they rarely last long at all as they're so popular. I'm sure I've shared them before in a five frugal things post but for those of you who … [Read more...]

Super Refreshing Homemade Mint Lemonade….
Way back in 2014, Miss Frugal amazed me with her homemade mint lemonade recipe which quickly became my favourite Summer drink! I've just made a batch so I thought I'd re-do some of the photos and share the updated version with you again! The original recipe for homemade mint lemonade does include a fair amount of sugar but you can reduce that or use a mix of that and sweetener if you prefer. I find that using five lemons does make the lemonade very tart and it does need that sweetness to counteract that!Today, I only used 3 lemons so halved the sugar and it was lovely - not as … [Read more...]
Amazing Ferrero Rocher Cupcakes….
I have an amazing treat for you today - Ferrero Rocher cupcakes!I didn't set out to make Ferrero Rocher cupcakes but as I was making some chocolate cupcakes for Miss Frugal and her friends, I spied some Ferrero Rochers tucked away in the treat jar and thought I'd have a bit of an experiment. The sad thing is that, because I didn't know how they would work out, I only made two of these bad boys! I used the rest of the chocolate cake mix to make normal cupcakes but if I'd known how brilliantly these would turn out I would have definitely made more - lots more! How to make amazing … [Read more...]
Healthy Oat Pancakes….
It's pancake day tomorrow so I thought I'd share my healthy oat pancakes with you just in case you fancy a healthy option tomorrow!Wherever possible, we keep Sunday aside as a family day where we spend some quality time together seeing as we seem to spend less and less time together during the week now that the kids are older and have different priorities (in no particular order: football, makeup, snapchat, friends and Fifa). We start the day together with a family breakfast although to be fair, we could call it brunch seeing as it's usually almost lunchtime by the time the kids … [Read more...]
