If you want to make brownies that are going to blow everyone else's brownies and bakes out of the water then this easy Baileys Brownies recipe is EXACTLY what you need!Every year at this time, we seem to find ourself buying a bottle of Baileys when we see it on offer telling ourselves we pop it away from Christmas. Every year, we open it not long after buying it and tell ourselves we'll just have a little bit and then put it back in the Christmas cupboard. And every year, we'll completely run out before Christmas leaving us either paying full price for a bottle or facing … [Read more...]
Hot Chocolate Cookies….
We first shared our recipe for these super cute little hot chocolate cookies back in 2013 and over the years we've made them again so many times. For some reason though, I've never got around to taking some new photos to replace the not-so-good photos that I took back then - probably because half of them 'disappear' as soon I take them out of the oven usually.Anyway, I've made a batch today ready for everyone getting back in from the football later on and because I actually had time to play before they get home and tuck in, I've actually managed to take a few photos. I've added … [Read more...]
Chocolate Packed Lunch Cake (between 9p and 11p per slice)….
I've shared a couple of versions of my packed lunch cake over the years but I thought I'd share the cake I've just made with you as it was not only super tasty but at 11p per slice, it's really good value.I first started making this when my two were in junior school as the rules guidelines set by the school at that time were that chocolate and bought cakes were frowned upon but a little piece of homemade cake was acceptable if it was part of a healthy and nutritious packed lunch. I wanted to make something that was a small-ish portion size, that could be cooked in bulk at the … [Read more...]
Milk Jelly like your Nan used to make….
My recipe for milk jelly was one of the first recipes I shared on here way back when I started blogging and back then, it was something I made quite often for the kids. I hadn't made it in ages though - until a couple of weeks ago so I thought I'd update the photos and share it with you all again.I've left the post pretty much as it was back in 2011 when I first shared it but if you scroll down to the bottom you'll find the printable version of the recipe which is much clearer than the original version along with some more recent photos.I've been thinking about investigating how to … [Read more...]
Super-easy 5 minute funfetti mug cake….
This super-easy funfetti mug cake is so easy to make that you can literally be sat at your table eating it less than five minutes after you've decided you need a cake fix!Miss Frugal's developed a bit of a love for mug cakes - mainly because she's quite impatient and most definitely doesn't like to share her cake! She likes something that she can make for herself quickly and that she can take upstairs with her to enjoy while she's watching Netflix! Mug cakes definitely fit the bill as there's no weighing involved (she uses tablespoons and teaspoons as her … [Read more...]
Super Refreshing Homemade Mint Lemonade….
Way back in 2014, Miss Frugal amazed me with her homemade mint lemonade recipe which quickly became my favourite Summer drink! I've just made a batch so I thought I'd re-do some of the photos and share the updated version with you again! The original recipe for homemade mint lemonade does include a fair amount of sugar but you can reduce that or use a mix of that and sweetener if you prefer. I find that using five lemons does make the lemonade very tart and it does need that sweetness to counteract that!Today, I only used 3 lemons so halved the sugar and it was lovely - not as … [Read more...]
