Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during the previous week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Hey!1) I thought I'd start this week by sharing one of my staple meals for this time of year - corned beef hash. I made a big batch of this overnight on Monday night in the slow cooker and it did a small tea for me on Tuesday, two nightshift meals on Tuesday and Wednesday, a tupperware bowl filled with enough for a meal for Master Frugal (who, at 20, is … [Read more...]

Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during the previous week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Hey!1) What better way to start a post than to share some bargain flowers that I got this week...I love having fresh flowers in the house and a bargain bunch is so much prettier than a full price bunch if you ask me. 😁These beauties were reduced from £6 to £1.66 and they're just the thing to cheer up my post-holiday blues this … [Read more...]
Cheap draught-proofing hacks for cosy nights in….
There’s nothing better than a cosy autumn night at home – fluffy socks on, a warm drink in hand, and maybe a film on the TV. But nothing ruins the mood quicker than a chilly draught sneaking in under the doors or rattling through the windows and our new house has plenty of 'problem' areas so I've been doing a bit of research around the things we can do to specifically fix any draughts. Which subscriptions can you cancel to save a fortune?
We all love a little convenience, and subscription services make life feel easier — from Netflix binges to Spotify playlists, to beauty boxes arriving on the doorstep. But with the cost of living rising, those “just a few pounds a month” payments can quietly drain your budget. We all know it’s easy to sign up for subscriptions, but harder to notice how much they add up to each month - especially when they're not necessarily in the same place with some being paid from your bank account, some are done through your phone and some might even be through sites like Paypal. By taking some time to … [Read more...]

Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during the previous week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Hey!We're going on holiday to Iceland tomorrow and I'm super excited but it does mean that this week has been chaotic to say the least. We've had so much to get sorted before we go that we're both a bit wiped out and genuinely in need of a week's sleep, never mind a holiday where we know we'll be on the go a lot of the time. But we've definitely managed to … [Read more...]
