Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during the previous week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Hey!So first up, I know that these weekly posts have been very few and far between for the last few months and there's a very good reason for that. I've not been very well and I've needed some time off work while I waited for an operation - nothing too dramatic but enough that it's wiped me out for a little while. I thought it was time to start them … [Read more...]
Nine things you can make in the Airfryer that might surprise you….
I know I'm late to the Airfryer party but since we got our Ninja Pro last month, I've been experimenting with the different things that I can cook in there and today, I thought I'd share some of the things that I've been cooking in there. One of my most popular posts at the moment is 'Nine things that you can make in the slow cooker that might surprise you' so I thought I'd do a similar post about Airfryers because in my limited time of having one, I've realised just how versatile they can be. I have a few accessories that I use with my air fryer - I bought them when I … [Read more...]
The best cashback apps for busy parents….
I'm a huge advocate of cash back apps - why would you not not want to earn money for doing nothing other than your usual shopping. I've used them for years and admittedly, you won't make a fortune, but you will earn a cheeky bit of easy money! Basically, cashback apps work quietly in the background, giving you money back on purchases you were already going to make which makes them perfect for busy parents who don’t have the time to cut out coupons or hunt for deals every day or people like me who like the reward without the effort. Here are some of the best cashback apps that … [Read more...]

What I wanted to talk about today is how you can reduce your spend, or at least share what's worked for me.After figuring out our own realistic food budget, the biggest thing that helped me to then bring it down to a level that feels … [Read more...]
What’s a Realistic Food Budget in 2026?
It’s around this time of year when lots of us start thinking about our food budgets again.I'd much rather review our food spending in February because just getting through to Payday in January is an achievement in itself for us with the combination of an early December pay and the inevitable overspend of Christmas. So for me, February is that lovely reset month where everything settles back into a routine which makes it the perfect time to get a clear picture of what we’re actually spending on food because it’s so easy for the weekly shop to creep up without us even … [Read more...]
How to Make a DIY Draught Excluder (Cheap & Cosy)….
Did you catch my post a couple of weeks ago about ways to beat the draughts in your house this Winter? One of the the ideas I shared was to make a DIY draught excluder and I mentioned that I'd just bought some gorgeous Liberty fabric from Vinted which was super cheap as it was a small piece of fabric leftover from someone's project. It was the perfect size for a draught excluder as it was long and thin so I was really pleased with my bargain. When the colder months set in, there’s nothing more frustrating than feeling chilly draughts sneaking in under the doors. A simple … [Read more...]
