Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Hey! 👐1) How on earth is it the last weekend in May already?I know it's way too early to properly discuss that day that happens in December but I did order a present today that I'll be putting away ready for the big day as I saw something on sale that I know will make a fab little present. I've also double-checked and I have around £40 in Boots … [Read more...]
Cheese and Tomato Scone Recipe….
This Cheese and Tomato Scone Recipe absolutely proves that scones aren't only there for the jam and cream combo that we all love!A good savoury scone is just as good as its more traditional fruit cousin and I promise that this Cheese and Tomato Scone recipe is going to be your new go-to scone recipe! Before we start though, let's clear up something important - how do you pronounce the word scone? Some people go with Scone (rhymes with gone) and others go for Scone (rhymes with stone). I'm in the rhymes with gone camp and anytime I hear someone pronounce it the other way, I can't … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things we did this week {21st May 2021}….
Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Hey! 👐1) I had some bananas to use up so instead of using my usual go-to banana recipes, I thought I'd attempt a flapjack instead. I'll be honest though, it wasn't the biggest success ever as the silicone baking tray that I used was too big so by the time I'd spread the flapjack mixture out, it was practically paper-thin.In case you're … [Read more...]
This month’s pre-loved bargains {May 2021}….
You all know that I love a good pre-loved bargain, whether it's from a charity shop, the car boot sale or even from somewhere online so you'll understand how excited I've been the last couple of weeks to be able to get back out to the charity shops and having a good rummage.I took Miss Frugal with me for my first shopping trip although she's much less enthusiastic about charity shop shopping and only came with me as we turned it into a driving lesson. 😂There were actually a couple of bits that caught her eye and she was responsible for possibly the bargain of the century... … [Read more...]
Instant Pot Minced Beef and Onions Recipe….
Instant Pot minced beef and onions were on our menu yesterday for tea so I thought I'd share how I make it with you. My Slow Cooker Minced Beef and Onions blog post is one of my most popular posts and every Sunday, without fail, it will be in my top 5 viewed posts because people are no doubt making that for Sunday Dinner instead of a full-on roast dinner. I don't blame them at all as it's such an easy meal to make and tastes amazing for something with so little effort needed but a couple of weeks ago, I thought I'd try making it in the Instant Pot instead. (When I say … [Read more...]
Homemade Febreze for under 20p a bottle….
I've been making homemade Febreze for years now and often share in my weekly Five Frugal Things posts when I've made up a new batch but today, I'm going to update and reshare the original post when I told you about it for a couple of reasons. Let me tell you why...The first reason is simply that I treated myself to a new spray bottle as the one I used to use was looking more than a bit grubby and I just wanted to show off the prettiness of it although it's shiny white with shiny rose gold lettering on it so definitely doesn't photo as well as I wanted it to. 😂. And … [Read more...]
