Do you ever get working parents guilt during the school holidays? Today's post is all about how you can survive the Summer Holidays as a working parent!I first published this post about three years ago but after seeing a couple of posts on Social Media this week about the Mum guilt some people are feeling I thought I'd share it again. My two are 19 and 17 now so whilst I do absolutely understand the Mum guilt and also the feeling of counting down the days until they're back at school at times, I encourage you to make the most of every minute as you'll miss these days in a couple … [Read more...]
How to track your monthly expenses….
Today I'm going to give you some ideas on how to track your monthly expenses which is something we all should (but often don't) do in one way or another.I've been blogging for a long time now (I'm a blogging pensioner pretty much) and I must have said how important it is to track your monthly expenses at least once a month because how can you know where you need to cut back and where you can afford to spend a little more if you don't know where you're at right now! It's also the only foolproof way to know exactly where your money is going every month so when you get to the end of … [Read more...]
Leftover Mash Cheesy Potato Pancakes….
These cheesy Potato Pancakes are an amazing way to use up leftover mashed potatoes!I've tried making something similar to this in the past to use up leftover gammon and mash but as amazing as they tasted, they definitely didn't look as tasty as they could have done. And then I saw a recipe for something similar which used flour to thicken the mix before cooking so I had a try making them with the added flour and they held their shape so much better when they were cooking. I also used more oil this time which isn't my favourite way to cook but it definitely helped them … [Read more...]

Anyway, back to this week's post about all the things I've done this week to save some money.1) First … [Read more...]
This month’s pre-loved bargains {July 2022}….
You all know that I love a good pre-loved bargain, whether it's from a charity shop, the car boot sale or even from somewhere online and this is my monthly post to share some of my bargains with you! This is my favourite post to write every single month. 😇It's because I genuinely love a good bargain and when I find one, I just want to share it with the world. I'm genuinely that person who you'll compliment on my outfit and I'll reply with either 'OMG I know, it has pockets too' or 'Thanks, it only cost me £2 from the charity shop in town'.They're pretty much my two only … [Read more...]
Why we’ve gone back to basics….
I've started this post about twenty times already this morning and this time, no matter what words end up on my screen, I'm not going to delete them. Maybe. 😂So I know that I've been the worst blogger in the world these last couple of years and I understand that there'll be very few people still here reading my posts but for those of you who are still here, I just wanted to update you very quickly on where I'm at and what my plans are going forward. I'm not going to go into much detail as I don't think this is the place to do that but the end result is that I'm now … [Read more...]
