I recently read an article about two brothers who founded a company which is now worth more than $100million. Their story was particularly inspiring because they didn't have a very easy childhood and believe that their mother's way to encourage positive thinking and her positive outlook on life is what inspired them to start their business.Their mother does indeed sound like an inspiring lady who believes, as do I, that happiness isn't necessarily dependent on your circumstances. Happiness is a choice!I choose happiness by always looking on the bright side of things which is quite … [Read more...]
A review of my favourite Christmas Present – The Morphy Richards Soup Maker….
Mr Frugal excelled himself this year with my Christmas present of a Morphy Richards soup maker and even did well by giving it to me on Christmas Eve morning because he knew I'd want to use it as soon as I got it and wouldn't have been able to if he'd given me on on Christmas morning.I love making soups and often make a batch at the start of the week for my work lunches so he decided to buy me the Morphy Richards soup maker to make life easier for me bless him.I've wanted a soup maker for ages but when I looked at the price of them (usually between £50 and £100) they seemed like a bit … [Read more...]

Christmas Eve in our house….
Happy Christmas Eve Eve!Tomorrow is my favourite day of the year and I can't wait for the kids to get up so we can get the day started with our traditional homemade pancakes and syrup breakfast. Knowing them, they're probably going to sleep until I get too excited and have to go and get them out of bed. ;-)We're having a relaxing Christmas Eve this year and don't have any plans to go out although I'll no doubt end up having to go and get something vital that I've forgotten. Sometimes we pop to the cinema after breakfast as our local cinema usually do the movies for juniors on … [Read more...]
Christmas Dinner Moneysaving….
I can't believe that it's only three sleeps until Christmas Day!One of my favourite things about Christmas Day is Christmas Dinner although I think that's probably because I don't have the stress of cooking the meal itself as we always go to my Dad's for the meal itself. It's usually all under control when we arrive and after enjoying an amazing meal, I don't even have to do the washing up afterwards (although I always volunteer). We usually have a gammon joint, a chicken and a side of beef to choose from and it's served with roasties, Yorkshire Puds and whatever veg my Dad fancies … [Read more...]
The Frugal Family Christmas Activity Advent- Make a paper Christmas wreath….
Yesterday was an easy day in our Activity Advent but we're stepping it up a notch today with a cheeky little craft! It's a simple craft but a craft never the less! All you need is a sheet of green card out of as you can see in the first picture above (I use a dinner plate and a side plate to make ours~) and some green paper that you can use to cut the leaves out of. The rest is all optional sparkle! One you've cut out your wreath base, you just need to cut out about a million leaves to stick around the template in a leafy pattern. I can guarantee that the kids will start off … [Read more...]
