Camping is one of the best budget-friendly family adventures – fresh air, open space, and no screens in sight. But no matter how carefully you pack, there are always a few essential camping items that are easy to overlook. Trust me, I know from experience that forgetting any of the essentials can turn a relaxing trip into a stressful one! 😁We are huge fans of camping and have a great little camping set up which we bought super cheap on Facebook Marketplace and I've previously shared some top tips on where to pitch your tent when you're on a trip but today, it's all about the … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things we did this week {20th March 2026}….
Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during the previous week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Hey!1) I found a pound on the floor when I walked down into our village high street on Sunday so I thought I'd use it to buy a scratch card. 😁 I won £10 so cashed it straight in and went to the charity shop where I bought myself a pair of trousers that I'll wear loads (Next, brand new with the tags still on them) and a pair of Zara trousers … [Read more...]
How we holidayed in the South of France for £235 per person….
At 23 and 20, I find it difficult to know what to buy the kids for Christmas. They have lives (and homes) of their own and as they both earn their own money, if they want something, they generally buy it straight away or save for it out of their wages which makes them hard to buy for. Add that to the fact that I've been a huge fan of giving experiences over gifts since they hit their early teens when they're old enough to understand the value of an experience rather than a big present and you can imagine the time that I usually spend of trying to think of the perfect experience related … [Read more...]
How to make a DIY tyre planter….
I feel like this is absolutely the wrong time of year to be posting this! I started writing it way back when my tomato plants hadn't even started flowering and definitely before I was aware that my strawberry plants were going to give me a grand total of three strawberries before deciding they were done for the Summer! I didn't finish it off for some reason and now I just found it, half written and gathering dust in my drafts. I hovered over the delete button but decided I'd share it anyway in the hope that you might bookmark it and come back in six month's time when Spring arrives and … [Read more...]
Pressing Pause: How I find Calm Everyday….
The past few months been a bit tough here, and a couple of things that have happened have really made me stop and think about how I’ve been living and what needs to change going forward. I've been forced to stop, slow down and reflect on what I have and what I could have had - and yes, I know this sounds super cryptic but it's been a difficult time and honestly, I think it's probably a bit too personal to share the details. Even without the detail though, it's really important to me that you know that these aren't just words on your computer or phone screen, these are changes … [Read more...]
I bought a Crimpit {Pre-loved}….
A few years ago, I bought a CRIMPiT and completely fell in love with it. I loved it so much that I actually dedicated a whole blog post to the wonders of this little kitchen gadget (which you can still read if you fancy it). But for the quick version: a CRIMPiT is a simple tool that seals the filling inside a sandwich, which instantly makes it more versatile. Once it’s sealed, you can toast it, grill it, or crisp it up into a toastie filled with pretty much anything your heart desires. I used it loads when I was doing Slimming World. It worked brilliantly with those sandwich thins you can … [Read more...]
