I can trace my love of stationery back to when I was about six years old on holiday in a pretty little town called Zelena Laguna in Croatia. There was a shop there filled with super-cheap exercise books – all with different colours and patterns on the covers and I remember spending far too long choosing just one from them all.
I wanted more but my Dad had just bought me a cute mini rucksack and a matching bum bag in the shop before so he’d said I was only allowed one and it felt like the hardest decision I’d ever made at the time.
I eventually chose one and that night, I remember sitting in the poolside bar with a pen and my shiny new notebook trying to think of something to write that would be worth of it. In the end, my Mam took the book off me and wrote a question or writing prompt on the top of each page so I started filling my lovely new book.
Ever since then I’ve had a bit of a notebook obsession and I currently have more than a few notebooks sitting empty, just waiting for the right subject to come along to fill each one with. 😉

What a lovely post! x
Bless that was a good idea of your mam to put a prompt at the top of each page to inspire you, I wish I had nicer writing as some notebooks are so fancy I feel my writing will let it down x
I have loads of notebooks that I start with good intentions and never finish using LOL
I got given a beautiful notebook last year for my birthday. I decided to use it to keep a record of my finances for the next year, at a top level. So every week, I record my net worth. I use fountain pen, and write a few words about it, also my goals for the coming week. It is lovely to look back at it. But to be honest, only because my net worth has increased, over the long term. Long may it be so!
I love notebooks too and use them for noting down my recipes – the ones I have created and the ones I would like to create.
I use the same notebook for everything and get all excited when it's finished and I can start new one. I have got one separate one for quotes and books I want to read and I use it little. When I do find it I get all excited and read it. My brother has a similar obsession with notebooks
I have lots of notebooks. In fact I have one here for you!
Oooh you know I can’t resist a notebook Mrs x x
Hmmm – I loe a fresh new notebook and tend to use them as a diary / dream tracker! I've always got one on the go!
I love stationery too but I have so many empty notebooks – and you have provided me with some great ideas of what to do with them. Glad I saw your post 🙂 x
That's a great list. I have to admit, I'm a notebook addict and I have several on the go for different reasons. I like to write things down.
Me too! I love notebooks. I have two unused and waiting for something deemed important enough to use them for. One is shiny and gold and the other is a beautiful A4 leather bound one received as a Christmas present two years ago. Irationally, I feel that they will be spoils as soon as I write in them! I also have several in current use. I know of several females with a similar penchant for notebooks, but no men. Weird!
I LOVE notebooks too and I drive my husband mad by buying them and never using them. Like you I am waiting for the right thing to come along. There are some great ideas there, I have a bullet journal, an ideas book and a 'what I am learning' book for any online courses I am doing.
