Only one more day left and then another school year will be over.Miss Frugal is going up into Year 5 and Master Frugal is going to be moving up to the dizzy heights of Year 3 where apparently you get to play in the big playground 'away from those little kids'.Funnily enough though, it's not the knowledge that they're both moving up a year at school that's made me feel a little bit sad tonight. It's the fact that when I cleaned the front of my fridge earlier on tonight, they both decided they were too old for all the 'babyish' fridge magnets. They're not particularly special fridge … [Read more...]

Slimming World Quiche Muffins….
For the last few months (up until I went on my holidays), I've been following the Slimming World plan (on a budget) and I've lost just over a stone altogether. It would have been a stone and a half but the half went back on while I was on my holidays! In an effort to be frugal I wasn't going to a Slimming world group, I was going it alone using some books that a friend gave to me but it was hard work. Chocolate Marshmallow Fluff cake….
We have found the most delicious new treat to use in our baking - Marshmallow Fluff. It's basically just spreadable fluffy marshmallow goo but it tastes delicious, and is really versatile - we've used it in cakes, hot chocolate, melted as an ice cream topping, on toast and actually, just eaten off the spoon straight out of the jar. It's really sweet and a little bit really does go a long way.Two tablespoons has 40 calories and no fat which isn't bad considering how sweet it tastes and the jar itself cost us about £1.80 if I remember rightly. On a Sunday night, I usually make … [Read more...]
