Thank you for all your lovely messages (by e mail and Twitter) wishing Miss Frugal well for her hospital appointment today.
Unfortunately, it didn’t go as well as we hoped as we were told that even though the brain scan she had last month was clear, we’re being referred to a brain surgeon who is an expert in a particular type of tumor that they want to rule out – an Acoustic Neuroma. Apparently some of the symptoms that she has point to this and as it’s a slow developing tumor, it’s possible that it’s still so small that it didn’t show up on the scan. We now have to wait for the appointment with the specialist to come through the post, so keep your fingers crossed that we won’t have to wait too long.
I know it’s just a precaution and it’s brilliant that the scan itself was clear but I just heard the words ‘refer to a brain surgeon’ and ‘tumor’ and went into panic mode. It’s a good job Mr Frugal was there to remember the important bits otherwise I wouldn’t have a clue right now. The last thing the Doctor said as she was giving Miss Frugal a big hug was to try and forget about things and enjoy the six weeks holidays so that’s what we’re going to do….
We’re starting with a sleepover for Miss Frugal tonight watching girly films and having pizza with her friend while the boys go see Cars 2 at the pictures 😉

Hi Cass – what a stressful time for you – I felt such an idiot these last few weeks – have been out of my mind with worry as my partner has had a tumour removed and we are awaiting results from tests – so your post has struck a chord with me, I wonder how much the medical professionals realise the impact of such words, but better to be told than not I should imagine – the lack of information we have had in recent weeks has been the main reason I ended up so worried, anyway sorry, wishing you all the very best and lots and lots of love. By the way, this may be the first time I have popped along to your blog (I know what a t***!) and what a beautiful family you have! xxx
Oh I hope everything goes well for you and your partner – it's so stressful because you have all the 'what if's' in your head don't you. Thanks for your kind words x

Oh I do hope it will all be ok and turn out to be nothing – It's horrible having to wait for an appointment like that.

You are in my thoughts Cass, hopefully it will be nothing, but be strong and have fun during the holidays. The boys can not wait to see Master and Miss Frugal again on Friday.
