Dear Miss Frugal’s Teacher,
Thank you very much for the school report you sent home with Miss Frugal today, it made lovely reading.
I’m very pleased to hear that she is using pertinent word choices in an appropriate manner and that she contributes her ideas freely and listens respectfully when others speak. I’m also impressed that she is responsible and hardworking and always well behaved in your class.
I must admit I’m slightly concerned that you may have her mixed up with another child in your class because she certainly doesn’t display all of these behaviousrs at home at times. You do know which one is mine don’t you? She’s the little one with freckles and ginger hair and the rather large mouth?
Yours, Confused Mother
P.S. It’s OK, I’ve just read the bit about her needing to improve on her agility and speed – that’s my girl!
P.P.S. I note that you’ve set Miss Frugal a target of learning to use subordinating clauses by the end of the school year – If you could kindly let me know what a subordinating clause is then I may (or may not) be able to help her achieve this target. Otherwise, she’s on her own!

Dear Master Frugal’s Teacher
You have no idea how proud I was to read his report today, he has come on so well and your reassurance that he is now at the same level as his class mates brought a tear to my eye.
Thank you so much for your help and support this year, it’s made more difference than you will ever know as he’s a different little boy now that he has the confidence that he’s got from his Reading Recovery classes. He is so much happier now and you have been instrumental in that change. He still needs to build on his confidence and we’ve just sat together and read every word of his report and he has a huge, proud smile on his face.
Also, although I’m not quite sure what using ‘music as a muse’ actually means, I’m sure it’s a fantastic skill for life as will be his puppet making skills and his ‘superb’ drawing skills.
Thanks again
Yours, Relieved Mother
P.S. I’m slightly concerned by the phrase ‘Can use tools safely’ – you do know he’s only just turned six don’t you?

Absolutely cracking reports well done kids (bet mummy cried!)
I did shed a tear or two 😉
That hilarious! Are they doing woodshop in primary school now?
I'm trying not to even think about it lol
Well done to the 2 junior Frugals.
Think ours are due soon – I may need to send them to you for interpretation.
Last year I'm convinced that the teacher just selected from a drop down menu of options. It is interesting when you have 2 in the same school year as you can see the identical statements and also what is missing (generally from my son's report – God love him!).
The children are at a new school this year so perhaps they will have a different menu. I wait with a sense of anticipation and intrigue for what may come.
I've thought that before tbh – I think they have a series of set phrases but I guess its more obvious when you have two in the same year…. Good luck with yours x
Awww go Miss and Master Frugal! Well done kids! I remember my Dad commenting every year that the reports were surely mixed up! You guys are lucky you have yours early! My mums school are only writing theirs now!
lol glad its not just me then x
