Are you ready for the Summer Holidays?
One of my friends mentioned today that she always runs out of ideas for things to do with the kids after a couple of weeks which means that she then resorts to more time on electronics than she would like and that reminded me of this post that I wrote a few years ago.
I sent her the link to this post and she messaged me back to tell me how grateful she was. 😁
I thought I’d reshare it today with you because I know lots of you will be in planning mode for the Summer and these ideas from a few years ago should hopefully show you that you genuinely don’t need to spend a fortune or let them spend endless hours on electronics to have fun.
This is a list of 100, yes 100 frugal and fun Summer Activities with you which should be more than enough to see you through the Summer!

This list took me forever to make but I was determined to get to 100 and I promise you that if you bookmark this page or even just screenshot the list of 100 ideas then you absolutely will not run out of ideas for the whole of the school holidays.
As well as this handy little list, which my friend has printed out and stuck on her fridge like a little bucket list, you might like to have a look at my favourite bored jar ideas and my bored jar fit for a tween post too. Our bored jars were used frequently and were brought out every single school holiday without fail for years.
This list of 100 different frugal but fun summer activities should keep you going for a little while so there’s no excuse to have to hear anyone in your house tell you that they’re bored, although I’m sure there’ll be at least one day where they won’t be able to agree on a single thing from the whole list!

I think we’ve done everything on this list at one point or another but the ones that have the little stars (*) next to them are activities that I’ve blogged about so if you want to find out more, just search for it using the search box in the top right of this page.
And another big tip I can give you to keep the kids busy and safe is to make sure you have plenty of kids garden toys in your garden – we always had loads to do in the garden when my two were younger which always seemed to attract half the neighbourhood. Something I loved as I much prefer the kids are all at mine where I can see them than somewhere else where I can’t. 😉
Have fun!
