When I saw that the theme for this weeks Gallery was RED, I planned to get Miss Frugal all dressed up in the cute red devil outfit that the lovely ladies at Tescos sent her but then today, Master Frugal came home from school with this Lizard.
It’s not just any lizard, it’s a very special lizard. They’re only given out to little boys who get all of their spellings right in the weekly spelling test at school! Yeay….
Only a couple of weeks ago I was really worried because he just had no interest in learning and seemed a bit behind his friends so I asked all my wonderful Twitter followers if they had any ideas on what I could do to encourage him to want to learn. I got stacks of fantastic suggestions and the lovely Pippa from A Mothers Ramblings even wrote a whole post of ideas for me! I tried out loads of the ideas I was given and all of a sudden, something seemed to click and he wants to learn.
So, even though it may seem like a small thing to you, to me it’s a massive leap and I am so proud of my little boy.

The school are brilliant with things like this – everyone that gets all their spellings right gets a prize – every week!

So lovely. I know at my son's school they have a 'zone board' and if they get into the sunshine they get to choose something from the 'gold box'. Surprisingly effective.
of course what you don't want is to get into Angry Worms . . .

I want something from the gold box – don't think it would be in the schools budget though lol
