I think I may have just secured the Mother of the Year Award, for Miss Frugal’s Christmas party at school tomorrow I’ve made chocolate fairy cakes with Nutella icing. They looked very Domestic Goddess-like until I let her loose with the sprinkles!
Because I’m a lovely person, I’m even going to share the recipe with you so you can impress your kids too….
Nutella Frosting
250g icing sugar
80g butter / margarine
75ml milk
90g Nutella (slighly melted – 30 seconds in the microwave does the trick)
Because I’m lazy, I used an electric whisk to mix the butter and the icing sugar into a breadcrumby texture. Then I added the milk and whisked for a bit longer before adding the melted Nutella and whisking for another few minutes.
The mixture was more than enough for the 24 cakes we made, so you might want to reduce the quantities if you’re not making as many cakes as we did…. Or you could just leave it as it is and have fun licking the bowl out
Enjoy

I have to buy some Nutella! I have never tried it, but always see it next to the peanut butter, that I buy every week. I just know that I would love these, and my kiddos probably would too!
What a great article. Thanks for taking the time to write it.
So it's not enough to tease me on twitter about these, you have to show me them too! Evil woman! These will definitely have to be made they sound gorgeous x
