I wanted to post another Quick Craft Club idea today but I didn’t have time to do anything crafty with the kids last night and we’re having a snuggle and a movie night tonight so I thought I would re-post one of our favourite craft activities.
I originally wrote about this quick craft in March but for those of you who missed it, here’s how to recycle your wax crayons.
Break up your wax crayons and put a selection of colours into a cupcake case, I use silicon cases for this but I’m sure paper ones would be OK too.
Pre heat the oven to around 160 c and put your crayon cakes in the oven, then you need to turn the oven off (what, they’re not real cakes you know 
). I ususally set the timer for around 12 minutes and check them every 2 minutes after that until they’re ready. You have to get them to the stage where all the crayon bits have melted, just before all the colours run into each other.
They always look like a failure when they first come out of the oven but if you leave them to set and then take them out of the cake cases, they look brilliant.
You don’t even have to wait until you have a load of snapped crayons to make this (although one trip down the back of my settee would probably make a whole batch!) as most supermarkets sell value packs of crayons for about 20p so you could just use these.

I love what you did to the crayons. If we use paper cups, will it be easy to peal off when it's ready?

I've seen this done before but never got around to giving it a go – we have loads of old broken crayons about too.
You'll def have to try it – the kids love making them…. they even do colour co-ordinated ones
