School Uniforms, new shoes, new packed lunch boxes and anything else that Miss Frugal deems as essential – it all adds up doesn’t it?
When the very kind people at Tescos contacted me along with a number of other Mummy Bloggers and offered to send me a school uniform each for the children to review I quite naturally jumped at the chance because I dread the cost of getting the kids ready to go back to school.
I arrived home from work this afternoon to a find a huge black box tied with ribbon had been delivered, apparently the postman wasn’t overly thrilled at having to carry it along with his regular stuff (just when he had finally forgiven me for the Innocent Smoothie strawberry plant breaking free from it’s box and covering his letters in mud lol).
Anyway,we opened it up and found this:
I’ll be honest the kids were less than excited to see a box full of school uniform but they quickly claimed the notepads and pencils as their own and squirrelled them away in their bedrooms before I steal them away (even they know I’m a stationary-a-holic). I’ve been through the box and each of them has a pack of polo shirts and a pack of long sleeved shirts. Miss Frugal has a pair of trousers and a skirt along with an excellent quality cardigan and Master Frugal got two pairs of trousers and a jumper. I even found a voucher for moi for money off on their website
It all looks fantastic but the only thing is, when Miss Frugal tried on hers earlier on it makes her look so grown up that I almost cried. I can’t describe what I mean, she just suddenly looked like she wasn’t my baby anymore and I realised how quick she was growing up. Next stop – the teen years (yes, I know she’s only 8
)
Tescos have asked me to spread the love a bit more and nominate a fellow mummy blogger to recieve a box of uniform so I would like to nominate Amy from And 1 more means four…. and 1 more - just because I love reading her blog and she has a new baby so I imagine she is so not in the mood for uniform shopping.
Thank you Tescos for sending me the uniforms and voucher

congrats on he pack, tesco vouchers having much pleasing discounts on them and they provide vouchers for almost all products of our daily use.

thanks so much hun you are a star xxxxxxxxxxxx
You are so welcome – I emailed Louise at Tescos and she said she would be getting in touch asap. I thought I should do the post straight away when I got the box to make sure you got yours in time for school.
If she doesn't get in touch in the next day or so, let me know and I'll send you her e mail address x x
wow, good old tesco, what a great saving, my little boy is not at school age yet but I honestly can say I do like tesco's clothes for him.
They are so reasonable priced aren't they – it means that you can treat them a bit more x

where was the internet when my kids were at school, I used to end up in a frothing pile of tears because of the cost of school. I have no idea why the parents of this country just lie there belly up and do what schools say. There is no law that can make any school or any parent buy school uniform. It's a bug bear of mine and school trips and 'equipment' – some parents just can't afford if
I know what you mean – I think some school trips are ridiculous. Our junior school goes to france in year 6 – too oung in my opinion and too expensive for that age but there'll always be some who pay it so there'll always be children feeling left out and parents wishing they could afford to send their children!
We're expecting ours to arrive tomorrow, we were out today when the postman tried to deliver it
I was wondering what would be in it, so this is great thanks!
lol you're postie will hate you more than mine hates me – he has to bring your box twice!

Ohh I want some free uniform! lol What a great box to receive and really nice of you to pass the love along. My girls start nursery in January and it occured to me the other day I have to buy them uniform. I will definately cry when I see them in their uniform. They will be far too small at 3.5 years. Mich x
Oh they'll look so little in their uniforms – they just seem too young to be going to school don't they?
Enjoy them while they're at home with you

I bought the 5yo's uniform from Tesco this year it was so easy. 3 for 2 and free delivery and they even let me have some sale clothes delivered in the same parcel for free (very happy!). From previous experience they wear well on younger children and I know this will last the duration. I will say though that both Tesco and Asda need to work on the cut for their teen girl trousers and skirts. We've ended up at M&S despite my tight budget because of the cut, but would have preferred to pay Tesco prices. I think Tesco get it right with a lot of their kids clothing, especially the basic ranges. Well done them for their generosity in sending the kids some extra goodies. 5yo wanted to know why her uniform didn't come with a packet of coloured pencils!
Bless your 5 y/o
M&S are really expensive aren't they, I had to buy my little ones trousers in there when he was in nursery as he started late and Tescos and Asda didn't have any left in his size, they cost more for one pair than they did for two at Tescos!
I like Tescos kids clothes aswell, they do character clothes like Toy Story and Hello Kitty at reasonable prices – good when you have a choosy daughter like me lol
aww what a lovely thing to do for Amy.
She deserves it bless her, I don't know how she does it
Woo Hoo!! I got some too and with the vouchers I'm buying the last couple of bits including a winter coat! Never before has school shopping been sooooo easy!! We Lurve Tesco!!! xx
I usually dread school uniform shopping but this was great – delivered and gift wrapped lol
