I’m following the Slimming World diet and the fantastic Not so single mum sent me some brilliant Slimming World recipe books and e mailed me a recipe for homemade ferrero rochers using Nutella – I bet you never thought you would hear Nutella and Slimming world in the same sentence lol.
I made my own Slimming World version of Chicken fried rice (I’ll post the recipe later) and Jambalaya (adapted from here) and even tried my own version some potato skins with garlic and chilli dip so I’m quite pleased with my experimenting this week.
I’ll post all of my recipes this week and if anyone has any favourite Slimming World recipes they would like to share, please let me know….
I’ve got a bit to lose so I’ve decided to break it down into smaller chucks…. My first target is to lose 2 stone, I don’t have a specific date in mind but tomorrow would be good lol!
Good luck to everyone else taking part, I’ll be round everyone’s blogs tonight to see how everyone is doing!

Well done for you, Great loss, I know loads of people that have had success with slimming world. I am on week 2 of The Big Momma Challenge.
Can't wait to see how you get on next week x
I'm really enjoying Slimming World so far
Good luck with your diet too – see you next week x
Oh, oh, I've just started Slimming World too. I'm not going to classes as I can't justify the expense so I bought a pack on t'interweb and started. I just cooked Chicken Kokina and Beef Stifado from the most recent SW magazine. Delicious! My problem is a husband who loves to cook in large quantities with lots of butter and cream but as my youngest is now nearly 13, the old plea that I'm 'postnatal' is wearing a bit thin! I shall follow your progress and share recipes!
lol I keep trying the mummy tummy excuse but its wearing a bit thin now. I love to cook cakes and buscuits with the kids and I pick at their tea lot so their my weak areas…..
Look forward to sharing your recipes too x
This is good one
Thanks x
Well done Mrs Frugal. Am v impressed. Keep it up -HMx

Great job – what a wonderful start! Looking forward to the chicken fried rice recipe. Have a great 2nd week!
Mmmm chicken fried rice is soooo yummy
Wow, what a brilliant first week!! And I like your tickertape thingy, that's a good way of doing it. Good luck, hope this is a good week for you too x
Thanks very much – not holding out too much hope for this week but I'm still plodding along….
Well done! Glad you like the books, I've memorised my favourite recipes out of them now – dont know whether that's sad or practical. My favourite SW recipes are the lamb rogan josh, onion bhajee, syn free peppercorn sauce, spag bol and spanish chicken ones I have on my blog, which I know you've already seen so wont post about them again. The recipes for sw quiche are always good too (and free) so will dig them out for you too as they are surprisingly nice. I found lots of recipes on minimins.com when I first started doing slimming world (they cater for WW, RC etc too) so if you ever need more inspiration, check out the slimming world recipe section of their forum and they'll have loads. It's also good when you dont know the syns of something as you get a reply within minutes! x
I think it's practical lol. The books are really good thanks again
I'm going to print our your recipes and make my own little notsosinglemum cook book lol Might send you a copy to get your autograph on it lol
Minimims looks briliant. – Cheers
well done, that's fab.
Cheers x x
