It really is true that the best things in life are free (although I clearly wouldn’t say no if you offered me a fancy car, big house and a giant pile of money) so today, I thought I’d share my 10 favourite free things in life with you.
Be warned, this may get a little bit cheesey….
1. Spending time with my lovely family.
2. Pyjama days at home spent watching TV, playing board games and doing very little else.
3. Going for nice long walks with the dog in the Winter and coming home to hot chocolate.
4. Taking photos to make sure we remember everything we do.
5. Making something useful from something we were going to throw away.
6. This is an addition that the kids made to my list – climbing trees!
7. Reading – whether it’s a good old fashioned book or a Kindle.
8. The satisfaction I get from having a good clear out and then making money from it at the boot sale.
9. That feeling of unconditional love and pure pride I get when I look at the people my babies are growing up into.
10. Summer walks on the beach.

A fascinating discussion is worth comment. There’s no doubt that that you need to publish more about this issue, it
might not be a taboo subject but usually folks don’t speak
about such issues. To the next! Many thanks!!
I found myself just saying yes, yes, yes as I read this. So many parents feel under pressure to spend loads of money on doing things with their family when actually that's not at all necessary, but sadly just what the media want us to think.
Holy mojo, that is a serious hot chocolate! Yum! Love these photos Cass, and the way your love for your family just shines through in both the pictures and the words.
My favourite free thing is drinking coffee and reading books in bed with my son & husband on Saturday mornings. I could happily do it all day! xx
A gorgeous family and a gorgeous list. Agree with all of it.
Aw that is lovely and a great list
The beach would totally top my list- we live near one and I love getting to see the sea, even on ghasyly days in winter!
What a great list, I love all those things too! I also like a nice bath followed by an early night with a good book, going for a picnic, making changes to the usual routine, like walking home from school a different way, or eating lunch in the garden or living room.
A walk to the woods, river or wild flower meadow to forage or look for mini beasts.A few hours in the park with a picnic.Going to the library.Playing board games, top trumps, drawing, consequences, hide and seek.Taking photos and making mini movies of each other. Menu planning and seeing what food needs using up.
Ahh how perfect! Love doing all those things too.
*heart melts* Beach walks are a fave here too x
