Then layer the bottom of a microwave proof dish with jam, I used about five spoonfuls but to be hones it could have done with a bit more so just use your own judgement as to how jammy you want it to be.

Microwave Jam Sponge Pudding….We love quick and easy recipes in the Frugal house and the microwave sponge pudding that we found is exactly that, in fact it’s so easy that Miss Frugal made ours tonight. She loves to bake and is learning to measure the ingredients out properly….
Ingredients:
100g sugar
100g butter / margarine
2 eggs
100g self raising flour
A few drops of vanilla essence
4 tablespoons of milk
Jam
Cream the sugar and the margarine (I think that’s the technical term – we just mash it with a fork) and then add the eggs, milk and vanilla essence. Mix it together and then add the flour to the mix and mix it a bit more.
Miss Frugal had great fun measuring out the ingredients and then doing all of the mixing herself.
Pour your cake mix over the top and then cover.
Put the bowl into the microwave and cook for about 4-5 minutes. I did it for three and a half minutes and checked it every 30 seconds after that.
Serve with custard and it’s ready – no more than 10 minutes from start to finish.

loved it loads thanks xxxxx
just going to try
A brilliant recipe, thanks. Just made this for sunday lunch pudding using some lovely raspberry jam and served it with cream. Everyone thought it was delicious and I won't be going back to oven baked sponges again!
yum. we made these in individual domed shaped cups with different toppings like Luissa (good idea-thanks) and turned them onto saucers so they looked pretty. Nobody would guess this wasn't steamed for hours on the hob!!! GReat recipe thank you…
We also do these in mugs so that everyone can have there own 'toppings'. I like syrup, son likes toffee sauce, hubby likes jam, daughter likes plain. Cook on high for about 1-2mins per mug. So four mugs would take 4-8 mins.
Made it with syrup as a quick n easy pud…… thumbs up all round! By the time the custard is done so is the sponge ;o) Thanks
Glad it went well x
this was a lovely cake. thank you
so good share Any way I'll be subscribing to your feed and I hope you post again soon.
