Diet Update…

Thanks very much for all your positive comments about my slimming world diet…. You’ll be pleased to know that I am on day 2 and still sticking to it (just). Because we don’t get paid until Friday, the cupboards are a bit bare and we are on our last pennies so my official start will be next week when I can stock up on Slimming World friendly food and I can join my local group.

Until then though I am being as good as I can but it is a bit difficult when you’ve not got much in to eat and no money to go out and buy anything else yet (Does anyone else have to make their December pay last 5 and a half weeks?). All I am eating at the moment is Pasta n Sauces and fruit and I can’t wait to go shopping for supplies because for me to stay motivated I have to enjoy being on the diet, usually by taking more time over preparing my food and trying different recipes and ingredients.

I did make myself a lovely quiche/omelettey thing last night though. It was gorgeous and super easy. I chopped up some boiled potatoes and put them into an oven proof dish, added some ham and some cheese (healthy extra) and poured over some beaten egg. 20 minutes (ish) in the oven and you have a lovely syn free snack.

I would make another one now but we’re out of ham and potatoes!

  • Told you they would be didn't I, well worth the pain hun. Sue x

  • I'm glad it's not just me that's counting the days until pay day then.

Glad you enjoyed the pudding BNM – we might have it tonight if I can muster up the ingredients from my bare cupboards!

Ready Steady Cook is exactly the way to describe our cooking here at the moment, although it never comes out looking as nice as it does on the TV though does it. Roll on shopping tomorrow!

SuperLittleMen, I have a sweet tooth as well and I can be good all day when I am busy but as soon as the kids go to bed and its relax time I just want a glass of wine and some chocolate lol

Not long now for you either Sue, by the way, my legs are still looking smooth lol

  • Hi ya, yes we are in the same position….very long month. Luckily my shopping month starts on the 24th so we only have to battle on for a few more days. Take care. Sue

  • My OH gets paid on Friday, me next week, so big shop at weekend, its a bit like Ready, Steady Cook in our house this week! I am going to try and join you on the healthy eating, I have developed a real belly over the last year and my New Years resolution was to get rid of it, but I have zero will power (and yes I know saying that is not going to do me any good, if thats what I believe), I need to do it though and find my will power. My trouble is I've also developed a sweet tooth and when I try and be good I spend all day every day thinking about something sweet, its a nightmare! Good luck with your slimming world and keep us posted.
